The Belmont custodial department works specifically engineered cleaning schedules to allow for efficiency and quality of maintenance. Custodial Services serves the campus seven days a week and operates 24 hours a day with the exception of Friday and Saturday.
More than just providing shiny floors and clean bathrooms, the custodial department provides a safe and sanitary environment by using appropriate disinfectants and safe cleaning products. Belmont takes great pride in the cleanliness of the buildings on campus. The university makes every effort to hire only the best people for custodial positions and to that end has one of the highest starting wages for custodians in the market.
How to Request Services
Since most areas of campus are cleaned during daylight hours, and our philosophy is to make service delivery decisions as close to the customer as possible, feel free to speak directly with the custodian working in your area for basic needs. Event Services
The custodial department provides services for over 1000 events on campus every year. These services include restroom coverage, pre-event and post-event clean up, and provision of extra trash cans when needed. Please discuss the need for these extra services with your event planner. At times there will be a charge for these services.
Diversity
Diversity is a key element to the success of this department. Among the custodial staff, thirteen countries and eight languages are represented. In 2013, a partnership was entered into with the Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE). NICE refers personnel with refugee status to Belmont for custodial job interviews when there are openings. http://www.empowernashville.org/
