Pedestrian and Traffic Regulations
The speed limit on campus is 8 MPH.
- Vehicles will be operated in a safe and responsible manner.
- Campus streets are considered 'No Passing' zones.
- Motorists must yield right of way to pedestrians on campus.
- Vehicles must pull over, come to a complete stop, and yield right-of-way to all emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
- Drivers must comply with the direction of officers providing traffic control.
- The use of loud mufflers or other unusual noisemakers is prohibited.
- Pedestrians shall use crosswalks.
- No pedestrian shall suddenly leave the curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.
- When traffic-control signals are not in place or not in operation, motorists shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians within a crosswalk.
- Where traffic-control signals are in place, pedestrians shall cross with the pedestrian crossing sign or traffic signal in absence of a crossing sign.
- Pedestrians should not use cell phones when approaching intersections or crosswalks.
