Students who do not plan to earn a degree from Belmont may apply for admission through any of the methods listed below and may take one or more courses at Belmont. Non-degree seeking status is not automatic and is usually granted for one term only, except in special circumstances. Non-degree seeking students are prohibited by federal regulations from receiving federal financial assistance. All application materials must be received by the application deadline. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to participate in priority registration.

How do I start?
Step One: Find out which classes Belmont is offering for the term you are interested in by visiting ClassFinder.
Step Two: Complete the online Non-Degree Application by the deadlines above and the $15 application fee. Please see the list below to find what materials are required in addition to the application for the type of non-degree seeking student you are.
Transient students are those who are currently attending another university/college that wish to take classes at Belmont to supplement their degree.
What to Submit:
- High school students: high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores and a copy of the letter of acceptance from the accredited institution the student plans to attend.
- College students: Transient Student Permission Form
These are students who do not wish to earn a degree and are not currently attending another university/college.
What to Submit:
Applicants must submit official transcripts from ALL colleges attended, even if prior courses are listed on other transcripts. Official college transcripts must be submitted from every college or university attended (including dual enrollment courses and summer courses taken as a transient student). Request that official transcripts (hardcopy) be mailed from the college/university directly to our office at:Office of Admissions

The Post-Graduate/ Post Baccalaureate status is for students who hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and would like to take additional undergraduate courses at Belmont.
What to Submit:
Transcripts may be submitted electronically through Parchment or the Student Clearinghouse. These are the only electronic delivery services accepted. If prompted to provide an email address for Belmont, please use admissions@belmont.edu. If your school does not use Parchment or the Student Clearinghouse, transcripts must be mailed to:

Individuals wishing to attend class presentations as a non-participant in a non-credit, non-degree seeking status may apply to audit a course. Audit is non-credit in all cases and regular tuition fees apply. Since all classes are not open for audit, students must have prior approval of the Dean of the college or school in which the course is to be offered before being admitted. Students taking courses for credit have priority over audit students for class entry. Therefore, audit students may register on a space-available basis only. Students may not audit private music lessons.

Senior Citizen Audit: Senior citizens 60 years or older may audit a course, pending space available, for $25 per course. Proof of age is required as well as the materials listed above.
Cross-Registrant Admission
Belmont University has a cross-registration agreement with Fisk University and West Texas A&M University for students who wish to take courses at Belmont under that agreement must complete the application and submit a Letter of Good Standing from their home institution. Please contact the Registrar at your home institution for requirements related to your school’s agreement with Belmont.

Consortium Admission
Belmont University has a consortium agreement with Trevecca University and North American Colleges & Universities (NACU) for students who wish to take courses at Belmont under that agreement must complete the application and submit a Letter of Good Standing from their home institution. Please contact the Registrar at your home institution for requirements related to your school’s agreement with Belmont.

Tennessee residents who are high school juniors or seniors may participate in the Dual Enrollment Grant program which provides opportunities for students to earn a semester of college credit free of tuition and fees, while still pursuing a high school diploma. View eligibility.
What to Submit:
- SAT I or ACT results (optional)
- Letter of recommendation from your high school counselor
- Official high school transcript at time of application
Belmont University has international exchange partnerships with several universities abroad. Students who wish to take courses at Belmont under that agreement must complete the application and submit Proof of English Proficiency and college transcripts from their home institution to Bryson Keltner by postal mail. Eligible applicants must submit the following items to complete the admissions process:
1. An official copy of TOEFL or IELTS exam results
- Minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper-based test (PBT) or 80 internet-based test (iBT); or
- Minimum IELTS overall band score of 6.5
2. An official college transcript from exchange university (printed in English). Copies must be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions at the following address:

3. A cumulative GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 or higher.
In addition, all exchange students will need to apply for a J1 visa before coming to Belmont University. The Office of International Students and Scholars will issue the DS2019 which is the form necessary for students to be eligible to apply for the J1 visa. Students need to contact Assistant Director for International Student and Scholar Services Shauna Walsh for further instructions on what documentation they need to provide. She can also answer all immigration related questions and concerns.
After you've been admitted
