Expanding horizons in health care through education, exploration and leadership development
This summer, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS) at Belmont University is hosting three engaging programs aimed at broadening perspectives in health care education and professional development. These initiatives will provide educators, students and future health care professionals with unique opportunities to explore the field through hands-on learning and collaboration.

CPHS will host a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competition during the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Nashville. This event allows students to demonstrate their skills while networking with peers who share their passion for health care leadership.
As an internationally recognized organization, HOSA prepares students for health care careers through education, collaboration, and hands-on training. With the growing demand for qualified health care professionals, HOSA competitions help develop the next generation of health care leaders who possess both technical expertise and leadership abilities.
Registration can be made through HOSA’s website.
Tennessee Health Educators: Enhancing Classroom Learning
Dates: July 17-18
CPHS will welcome approximately 80 health educators to campus as part of the Tennessee Department of Education, College, Career and Technical Education Team, an initiative designed to equip teachers with valuable tools and experiences to integrate into their classrooms.
Participants will engage in interactive lab experiences, gaining insights into various health care professions beyond traditional roles such as nursing and medicine. By developing lesson plans and introducing students to careers in fields such as occupational therapy, public health and exercise science, educators will help expand awareness of health care opportunities.
Building the Future of Health Care Together
These summer initiatives at CPHS highlight the college’s commitment to advancing health care education and workforce development. By engaging educators, students and aspiring professionals, these programs contribute to the growth of a knowledgeable and skilled health care community.
