Nashville State Community College and Belmont University announce its third formal transfer agreement for associate degree-holding graduates seeking a bachelor’s degree.
Nashville State Music Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) graduates may transfer credits toward a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music (Performance Emphasis) at Belmont University’s prestigious School of Music.
“Belmont’s School of Music is nationally recognized for its standard of excellence,” said Nashville State’s Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities Dr. Michael Sundblad. “Nashville State champions our student’s passion for the creative arts and is pleased to open a direct pathway for graduates to continue enhancing their skills.”
"We are delighted to partner with Nashville State Community College and provide a seamless pathway for their talented music students to continue their education at Belmont's nationally acclaimed School of Music," said Stephen Eaves, dean of the College of Music and Performing Arts at Belmont. "This agreement expands educational opportunities for students and strengthens our combined commitment to teach and empower future musicians in Nashville."
Students wishing to transfer credits must meet Belmont and the School of Music's audition and admissions requirements and provide an official transcript of their courses completed.
As part of Nashville State’s Music A.F.A. program, students are offered courses in music theory, music history, music appreciation, voice, guitar, piano, and other instruments of choice.
In addition to the music program transfer agreement, two others exist for Nashville State’s School of Health Sciences and School of Business and Professional Studies graduates.
Belmont holds a maximum of 16 yearly seats for Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Health Sciences seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Additionally, Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Business Administration can transfer to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration.
