Belmont’s School of Occupational Therapy has ranked #41 nationally in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings, which were made public this week — an impressive jump from last year's ranking of #58.
The School of Occupational Therapy at Belmont contains two programs, a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (DOT), and is designed to develop leadership and professional reasoning skills, preparing students to serve others through engagement in meaningful occupations.
The school, acclaimed for its high accreditation standards and impressive National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) pass rates, offers a flexible hybrid model that allows continued work while students advance their degrees. It equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in various occupational therapy practices and nurtures leadership through engagement with experienced faculty and a network of influential alumni.
The school's impressive performance in the U.S. News rankings reflects Belmont's commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience in this growing healthcare field.
"This ranking is a testament to the exceptional education we provide, preparing our students to become leaders and advocates in the field of occupational therapy," said Program Chair Dr. Tamara Lemmonds. "We are proud to offer an MSOT program and a DOT program that consistently delivers outstanding outcomes, and we look forward to continuing to shape the next generation of occupational therapy professionals."
This well-rounded education prepares graduates not just for entry-level competence, but also for lifelong learning and leadership in the field, advocating for both the services and the recipients of occupational therapy.
