How would you describe your Belmont University experience?
My Belmont experience has become the expectation of what the rest of my life and career should look like. When I think about my time at Belmont, my mind goes to the overwhelming amount of joy and innovation I was constantly surrounded by. Everyone around me championed for my success and did whatever it took to help me accomplish my goals.
How did Belmont help you grow and develop your network?
The emphasis on working within the community helped me grow and develop my network. An example of this was how Belmont connected me to The Education Trust Tennessee, where I completed the THRIVE TN Fellowship. This experience helped confirm my interest in working in education policy and connected me with professionals in that field through various networking opportunities and speaking engagements.
What support did you receive from Belmont in achieving your career goals?
Be present in your student organization/academic college communities! Everyone loves working with Belmont students and alumni, so they are more than happy to provide opportunities. Make sure you are keeping up with what offerings student orgs or your academic college has to offer by attending events, checking your email and talking to professors/other faculty and staff.
