Biography

Dr. Singh earned his PhD from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute and completed his postdoctoral research at Illinois State University and Medical College of Wisconsin.  He is joining us after 20 years of teaching Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases to medical and dental students at A.T. Still University.  He spent the last several years serving as the course director for the Medical Microbiology course and has expanded his interest in education by serving as a National Faculty on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners writing and reviewing board questions. Dr. Singh is also passionate about research and has dedicated much of his career to understanding the molecular basis of Staphylococcus aureus pathogenicity. He is investigating global changes in staphylococcal gene expression in response to stress conditions and identifying regulatory networks that aid in the process of infection and antibiotic tolerance with the aim of identifying novel chemotherapeutic agents.  In his free time, Dr. Singh enjoys playing racquetball and badminton and loves watching professional football, basketball, and baseball. He’s happily married to his wonderful wife and together they have two daughters who live in St. Louis, Missouri.
