Dr. Robert N. Wallace, Jr. is a native Nashvillian. He graduated from Metro Nashville Public Schools and later attended Belmont University, earning a Bachelor in Business Administration. Afterward, he committed to education and public service, joining MNPS to teach math, science, and social studies. He earned his Master in Education from Lipscomb University and a Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University (Peabody). Robert also holds a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to serve in various school-based leadership roles—from Founding Director of Operations to Interim Executive Principal. Additionally, he was PENCIL’s first Chief Operating Officer (COO) and later became Senior Education Advisor to Mayor Cooper, the 9th Mayor of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County, focusing on education policy. Currently, he has the pleasure and honor of serving MNPS as its Executive Officer of Resource Strategy—leading the district’s school-based budgeting and Title I allocation efforts. His expertise in financial management and strategic planning ensures efficient and effective allocation of resources to support student outcomes. Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert remains dedicated to serving his community through volunteerism and cherishing time with loved ones.
