Biography

Dr. Morgan Wills is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Department of Foundational and Clinical Sciences at Belmont University’s Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine. 

Dr. Wills’ clinical and academic interests center around community-based primary care, and the intersection of culture, spirituality, and health, demonstrated in the many years of service at Siloam Health, a faith-based, nonprofit health center serving Nashville’s uninsured. As President & CEO from 2013-2023, Dr. Wills oversaw a diverse, interdisciplinary team of 65 staff and over 400 volunteers caring for 6,500 uninsured patients annually, >90% of whom are foreign-born immigrants or refugees from over 70 countries. Siloam also oversees all Refugee Medical Screenings for Middle Tennessee, leads community health initiatives for medically vulnerable foreign-born communities, and trains dozens of health professions students annually in the art of whole-person care for the underserved. 

A Nashville native, Dr. Wills earned a B.A. in history from Princeton University, an M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and an M.A. in Marketplace Theology from Regent College (Vancouver, Canada). He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians 2006. An award-winning clinical faculty member at Vanderbilt, he is also a graduate of Leadership Nashville and the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows program and has launched or served on the boards of several local nonprofits. Dr. Wills enjoys cycling and travel, and recently learned to play golf. He hones his cross-cultural skills at home with his Canadian wife Heather, three emerging adult children, and their Spanish water dog, Pancho.
