Biography
Mark Ellis, originally from Buffalo, New York, developed a deep love for music by listening to his parents' records. His passion for music took a creative turn at the age of 17 when he learned to play guitar, and it blossomed further when he discovered his love for recording during college. To pursue this passion, Mark attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Arizona, where he honed his technical skills.
After completing an internship at Welcome to 1979, Mark went on to partner in a recording studio in East Nashville, where he continued his journey as an audio engineer. Alongside studio work, he ventured into the world of recording equipment sales, designing and integrating custom studios for artists, producers, and engineers.
In 2020, Mark shifted his focus to the emerging field of Spatial Audio, immersing himself in this innovative technology. He played a key role in setting up spatial audio rooms across Nashville, including at Warner Studios, Starstruck, and BMG, as well as numerous private facilities.
Outside of his professional work, Mark is passionate about creating soundscapes with his modular synths, playing basketball, decorating his Mid-Century Modern home, and exploring Japanese art.
