Katie Rockey

Biography

Katie oversees all undergraduate and graduate academic advising in the Massey College of Business. She began advising at Belmont University in 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville.

Before coming to Belmont University, Katie advised in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) at the University of Kansas as a Senior Academic Advisor. Her advising experience includes both undergraduate and graduate students with various majors in the Liberal Arts & Sciences as well as Business. Katie is not only active in advising for the College of Business but serves as a training resource for faculty advisors across Belmont’s campus. She has presented at the Region 7 NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) Conference during her time at the University of Kansas. Katie continues to hold a membership in NACADA.

Katie has a passion for travel and is a big advocate for students studying abroad. While at the University of Kansas, she partnered with the KU Office of Study Abroad with a site visit to the University of Costa Rica to expand their recruitment of students into the program. Outside of campus, Katie maintains a YouTube channel offering travel resources and vlogging her adventures to different destinations.
