Biography
Dr. James Judge, M.D., is a multi-award-winning professor who dedicated 18 years to shaping future physicians at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. A passionate educator and early advocate for AIDS/HIV awareness, Dr. Judge’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. As teaching faculty and chairman of the advisory board for Kerus Global Education, he has championed AIDS education and character-based life skills training in 25 countries, including 16 in Africa. His work as a missionary doctor in Kenya during a year-long sabbatical further exemplifies his commitment to compassionate care.
A published author, Dr. Judge has written three medical narrative works exploring how connecting deeply with patients during their moments of vulnerability enables healthcare professionals to grow more fully human. His favorite authors, Frederick Buechner and C.S. Lewis, inspire his approach to medicine and life.
Dr. Judge is also a master gardener, a devoted husband of 49 years, and a proud father to three daughters and their wonderful spouses. He cherishes his nine brilliant and talented grandchildren. Driven by a profound desire to help medical students grow not only as clinicians but as compassionate individuals, Dr. Judge believes in nurturing hearts to align with the life-giving purpose that God envisions for all of us.
