Biography
Dr. Erin Behnen joined Belmont University in 2018 as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment and Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Behnen came to Belmont from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) where she served as Assistant Provost for Academic Innovation and Effectiveness. Prior to her position in the Provost’s Office, she served as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Pharmacy at SIUE. Dr. Behnen had been at SIUE since 2005, when she was hired to create and direct the SIUE Drug Information & Wellness Center and later also served as Assessment Coordinator for the School.
Dr. Behnen completed a drug information specialty residency at The University of Tennessee (UT) in Memphis. During that time she also gained experience at the Southern Poison Center and UT Family Medicine Clinic. She remained at UT as a faculty member before her appointment at SIUE. Dr. Behnen earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, has served as an officer for the Drug Information Practice and Research Network through the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and is a Fellow of the Academic Leadership Fellows Program through the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
