Biography

Dorren Robinson is an Assistant Professor of Journalism and has been with Belmont since 2005. She specializes in journalistic writing and is the faculty adviser for the Belmont Vision, the university's student-run news outlet, where she oversees the text, video and audio content. Under her tenure with the Vision, it has won every major award given out by the Southeastern Journalism Conference including Best College News Website, Best College Newscast and Best Audio Program. Robinson was named Outstanding Journalism Educator of the Year by the Southeast Journalism Conference in 2020. Before coming to Belmont, Robinson was an award-winning reporter at The Tennessean for 15 years where she primarily covered education across the state. She has B.A. in Journalism from Western Kentucky University and a M.A. in Mass Communication from Murray State University.
