Biography
Dr. Harrison received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from
Wake Forest University, her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University, and her
Doctor of Health Science from the University of Indianapolis. She is an APTA Board
Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
Dr. Harrison has over 12 years of clinical experience in pediatric physical therapy at the
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Boston Children’s Hospital. She has worked with
a variety of pediatric patient populations across inpatient rehabilitation, day hospital
rehabilitation, acute care, and seating and adaptive equipment settings. Dr. Harrison
has served as a clinical instructor for doctor of physical therapy students and as a
clinical mentor in a pediatric physical therapy residency program. Prior to joining the
faculty at Belmont University, Dr. Harrison served as a lecturer and lab instructor in
several physical therapy programs in the Philadelphia area.
Dr. Harrison teaches in the areas of pediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation. She
also serves as course director for Patient Care Skills and as a research mentor in the
Critical Inquiry course series. Her scholarly interests include qualitative research,
leadership and physical therapy, non-cognitive traits in health professions students, and
interprofessional education.
