Biography

Dan Privott, CPA, began teaching at Belmont University in 2020. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University and an Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), his industry experience includes work in public accounting as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand in St. Louis and then at Deloitte & Touche in Nashville. For the last 25 years, he has held several roles, including project manager and systems architect, working on ERP implementations and upgrades (Oracle and NetSuite). He also is a certified Project Manager (PMP), earning that designation in 2015. 
 
Before coming to Belmont University, he taught as an adjunct at Cumberland University. He has a broad range of teaching experience, across both disciplines of accounting and business systems, including audit, tax, Excel, information systems, consulting, and project management. He has presented his experience with NetSuite in the classroom at national conferences.
 
Mr. Privott holds membership in the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, and the Project Management Institute. 
 
When he is not teaching, he loves coaching girls softball, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and reading history.
