Biography
Caleb Walder, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a practicing architect and educator with a holistic approach to the design of the built environment. He has practice experience in Illinois, California, and Arkansas and has contributed to design projects on four continents. His professional work includes a wide variety of building types with a focus on public architecture. He has recent practice experience with the acclaimed design firm Marlon Blackwell Architects where he acted as a designer, project manager, and building performance specialist for projects ranging from a small local church to diplomatic facilities for the U.S. State Department Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations.
Caleb is also an experienced educator who was a faculty member at California Baptist University where he contributed to the initial NAAB accreditation of a Master of Architecture degree program. He has served as a guest lecturer and design critic at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas, and the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
Caleb is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal. His work as a practitioner/teacher/scholar is at the intersection of design and research in pursuit of architecture for human flourishing.
