Ashley Horner

Biography
Dr. Ashley Horner received her B.S. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Tulane University. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. Dr. Horner has over 15 years of experience teaching neuroscience, neuroanatomy, neuropharmacology and behavioral science to 1st and 2nd-year medical students and has been involved in the development of neuroscience and pharmacology curricula. Dr. Horner also spent close to 20 years researching basal ganglia pathways involved in the development of habitual drug use. She was the recipient of several research grants from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and has 20 publications describing her research into mechanisms of addiction. Dr. Horner is also a member of the Society for Neuroscience, the International Basal Ganglia Society, the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and the International Association of Medical Educators.
