Get to know Belmont through data!
IRSA provides a comprehensive Fact Book for internal and external constituents to effectively tell Belmont’s story. The Factbook is updated throughout the year based on official student, faculty, and staff census freeze timelines, as well as the university administrative calendar. IRSA and Belmont participate in the Common Data Set Initiative intended to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided externally.
General Information
Belmont University is proud to offer over 150 graduate and undergraduate majors, and our programs are accredited by more than 15 accrediting bodies. Learn more about available programs and our accreditations in the Accreditation section.
Admissions
IRSA reports trends and information from our admissions funnel to look at Belmont’s newest incoming class. This information provides insights into our freshman class, a dynamic group of first-year students who reflect a wide variety of interests, experiences and accomplishments.
Student Enrollment
Every fall semester we create a frozen snapshot of our student body information to be used for official reporting. In the Student Enrollment section of the factbook, you will find student body demographics such as gender, race/ethnicity, and degree level (undergraduate/graduate), along with the most popular majors Belmont offers.
Student Outcomes
Belmont University measures student success using nationally recognized standards of student achievement appropriate to Belmont’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered. We closely monitor several factors that measure student success and set goals to challenge ourselves and our students to continually improve.
Faculty
Faculty demographics are reported based on the frozen snapshot created annually on November 1st. The faculty page displays faculty demographic information, student-faculty ratio and undergraduate class size.
Staff
All university employees who are primarily non-instructional are listed in our staff page based on the frozen snapshot created annually on November 1st. They are categorized by Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes consistent with IPEDS reporting as well as other relevant demographics.
Common Data Sets
The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson’s, and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student’s transition into higher education.
IPEDS Submissions
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a collection of surveys from the US Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Data submitted to IPEDS reflects our official reporting numbers for enrollment, degrees awarded, student financial aid, and more. Click to view Belmont data on the NCES site.
