Pre-Occupational Therapy

Cultivate your passions for helping individuals live a full life by equipping them with knowledge of how to prevent or live better with an injury or illness through Belmont's pre-occupational therapy program!

Why Study Pre-Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy helps a wide variety of people who are all experiencing different life situations. In this program, you will be equipped with the knowledge of how to help patients who are experiencing physical and emotional hurdles. For example, helping someone who is experiencing a neurological disorder or helping a wheelchair-bound adult navigate daily tasks.

What You'll Learn

feature-pre-ot.jpgFor graduate health programs, the coursework in your first years is essential! They are:

  1. fundamental to your understanding of upper-level courses
  2. important for your performance on standardized tests
  3. key to a strong GPA in your applications.

Just to be clear, you do not need a perfect GPA to get into graduate health programs. Many students have a bumpy start to starting college or an especially challenging stretch during school, and overcoming these academic dips can show significant academic growth and strength.

However, it can be more difficult to bounce back from long-term academic struggles. Thus, your top focus in your first two years should be your coursework.
