Program Details

Backed by 14 years of excellence, MEI was born as a response to Belmont’s popular music business program. For those who wanted to dive into the exciting world of entertainment without the specialization of business courses or complex math, MEI became the solution by paving the way for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a minor instead of a BBA.

Beyond academia, we delve into what the world recognizes as the Creative Industries - encompassing video games, television, film, music and more. Originally named Entertainment Industry Studies, our program has evolved to become the launching pad for over 300 students annually.

Curriculum

The music business major is equivalent to a double major in business administration and music business, so you won't need to complete a minor area of study. A major in music business leads to the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) and requires a total of 128 credit hours of coursework:

  • BELL core requirements: 53 hours
  • Major requirements: 42 hours
  • Major requirements: 18 hours
  • Electives: 15 hours
